On the Hard

Here we are "on the hard" in Stockton. We had planned on just a quick power wash, and then put a new coat of bottom paint on. Problem was there were too many coats of paint already on and we had to take all the paint off via sandblasting. A few very small "blisters" to repair, then we can paint.

This is hard work, I am exhausted every evening and muscles I didn't know I had are making themselves known. It is also frustrating because I cannot work for very long, lifting my arms up sanding with or without a sander. Frustrating, don't feel like I am doing my share, but just keep doing what I can.

30 Days and Counting

It is official, we are now unemployed. Retired? Don't know what label to wear, just know we have a lot to do to prepare.

Very strange feeling, but I believe I'll adjust quickly. Yesterday I sewed canvas and this week will make a new mainsail cover, that will be a project.

It is already nice to have the day to spend at your discretion.  Today I think I'll cook, Blue Ginger crackers, yum!

And so a new adventure begins . . .

George brought the expertise

Mast is properly prepared and ready for paint.

The easy way to go up the mast.  Marcus loved the ride!
We purchased Rebecca as "Myha" in San Pedro, CA and took her to a boatyard where we could repair the dryrot in the mast.  We were able to score a great deal on this boat because of the dryrot, it scared others off, but Marcus was able to help get it repaired properly.
